do you know where I can get a replacement board for the headliner for an xj, my wifes xj didn't come with anything for a headliner and would like to do something similar for her

Junk yard would be good. You can get on Craig's list and find a bunch of part outs. May find one pretty close to you.

That came out great! I pulled my headliner that was sagging and was too lazy to redo it so I haphazardly scraped it and spray painted it black. Didn't come out half bad, but dang I'd like this.
