Bought a very nice XJ from a buddy,he installed a Ruff Stuff track bar bracket on drivers side ,went to put the sway bar back on for some highway traveling and dang if the track bar mount interferes with the sway bar ,big time,can’t run it.It will go over the mount but won’t drop down due to how much the Bracket sticks out.Anybody know of a “wider” sway bar that will work ? Ruff stuff even has in the description “for use with wider axles” not sure if anybody has ran into this issue and has a fix,funny camera angle is making the coil look bowed ,it’s not

 

I'm assuming he used an outside-frame bracket to cheat some extra length on the track bar to match an over the knuckle drag link setup. Good for steering geometry, problematic for a sway bar.

You may want to flex your suspension up to the bump stop on that side to see if you have room between the tire and track bar mount to snake something in there. Good chance you don't. Might have to get creative.

 

Yes thats why i asked about a wider sway bar option ,if someone knows of one

 

I'm just asking the question if you even have room to run a wider one. I feel like there won't be clearance. Maybe check out a WJ bar? Total guess. Either that or measure what you need and find an antirock to fit the application.

 

I need about 36-37 “ wide sway bar to clear the track bar bracket,factory bar is about 34” wide

 

All fixed ,went with Ruffstuff panhard bar mount for stock axle application and now my factory sway bar works
