Default Need help with rear leaf sping bolt

Ok guys, I need some help with my 3" lift. The rear leaf bolt is stuck and I can't drop the spring. What is the best way to do this..
Also what is the best way to get the bolt holding the same shackle out..the head is completely rounded off and I can't dit a socket there.

Use a sawzall for the leaf spring eye bushing bolt. If you're not reusing your shackle you can go this route: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/em...7/#post1743813

If worst comes to worst you could weld a new nut on the end of the rounded off bolt. Or you could file it hexagonal again until an smaller socket works.

Sears sells a socket for stripped bolts. They work pretty good. Start soaking that thing in pb blaster ASAP. I would take the grinder to it myself and grind it down hex again.

We talking about the bolt in picture ? Put pipe wrench on shank and spin it out.

I ended up having to cut mine out. The welded nut broke loose.

do you have the vehicle supported by the frame or the axle? it looks like there's tension on the spring causing the bolt to bind up. support the truck by the frame, then jack the axle until the tension is off the bolt
