My version of a cowl snorkle
Just did mine today on my lunch at work... Well final assembly at least... Gunna test it out with this snow the east coast is getting tonight only thing I want to change is maybe make a little roof for the tube sticking into the cowl... For added security cuz t seems like the snow is getting sucked into the holes of the cowl grill as it sits

I take it you went to the drivers side?
Hey I drilled the hole to the left of the diagram sticker, I just removed (and saved) the emissions sticker and put it there where there is no covering on the cowl... is it a problem that I did ut where the cowl doesn't have the grate covered? Just worried about it suckin down rain water... I know the main dude has said he used a garden hose to test it but with all the suction that the cowl now has do I need to be concerned with it?

I tried this, trouble is, when you get stuck in the dunes, a lot of sand gets thrown up and it cascades down the windscreen and into the cowl...
The airbox would quite regularly have a bucket worth of sand in it after every trip...

never thought about sand - but then again that's not really the intent of this mod.
Maybe consider a pre-filter inside the cowl? Or some screen door material attached to the tube end to filter sand before it entered the tube? That seems like a LOT of sand to be getting inside the cowl area.

I see some people commenting on my intake I made on my comanche
it uses a sealed air filter that you can take out and wash. I had some 2.5 inch inter-cooler piping and couplers laying around and for the cap its an Intake pipe cap for tractors.
ive run this setup for over 4 years and have not had any bad effect i daily drove this for about 2 years and the rest is just wheeling been through many water crossing and mud holes and no problems
I've got one foot out the door on my way to the hardware store. I have an extra stock intake hose already so I just need to pick up the PVC pieces. I do have a question. Did you use PVC glue to attach the PVC pieces together?

nah they are just press fit together. I used RTV to seal where it connects to the airbox

hmm interesting solution. I'm just careful not to move the tubing around too much when removing it
