anyone know of a muffler that will give me a low rumble kind of sound?!
and the pros and cons of straight piping and how it will sound with the 4.0

Well my glasspack has kind of a low rumble, it has a bit of a problem falling off tho, when it does i get a really loud low rumble and the truck feels like it has a bit less take off. Currently running without it due to not having a welder to properly attach it. Its not really loud and more noticeable at low to idle rpm's.

I'm currently running nothing. Just the pipe before after the manifold and right before the cat. Gonna pipe it infront of the pass rear tire with a dual tip.
Sounds good. And LOUD!! lol, I set of sensitive car alarms with that sucker. It cackles down like my buddys 06 GTO 6.0 in a first gear decel, along with backfires like a ****. =)

Flowmaster 44 sounds real good, there's a guy on here that sells the muffler and tail pipe on here for like 100.00. I think he goes by mudfrog.
thats what i was thinking wahoo, but would it still sound ok without a cat, mine isnt on because it is shot and knocks when i drive around.

This is like that one time you went swimming with your sixteen year old neighbor and she took her shirt off. Your over 18, you tell no one of this. This could get you in trouble.Originally Posted by Maxoil

yeah careful with the i have no cat talk, its frowned upon on this forum...
but a flowmaster will give you a nice deep sound, thats what im running and a high flow cat, sounds super nice and has a nice deep tone up to about 3500 rpm then it starts sounding like a race car, its niiiiice

performance-curve.com has cat back systems for 100$
I prefer turnowns tho. I have a Magnaflow 14" 4x9 oval muffler. Was 49$ shipped on amazon.com
I ike how it sounds, but you may want 18"

Don't straight pipe it. 4.0's NEED backpressure.
Backpressure is a myth on our XJ's. Only carb systems need backpressure.. our FI 4.0's don't need it.Originally Posted by Jeep450r

Im getting ready to run with a 2.5" exhaust with a high flow cat and Flowmaster Super 44 muffler with the tail pipe mudfrog offers.
And catless is illegal. Just saying to keep a mod from having to mention it, and then someone gets upset and runs their mouth to the mod, and then the thread gets closed (it's a vicious cycle). Really, just don't brag about it.
