after alot of searching here and pirate, cant really seem to find what im after. everyone is flipping springs and sutff, i just want to move my rear axle back about 2 inches. the wheel is way too close to the front of the wheel arch for my liking. all i can find on this topic is one thread about s10/dakota springs, (and when you search that you just get "bastard pack" crap) or the ruff stuff +2 perches. i would think springs would be better then trusting just the welds on those perches to hold my axle in? all i need is s10 springs and shackle relocation brackets? how much does an s10 spring give lift wise?

I just moved my rear axle back an 1" this weekend.
I used the MORE stretch plates, $25.
My 35 are perfectly centered in the rear wheel now.

Pretty much your options are, those M.O.R.E. plates or welding on ruffstuff perches without getting into longer leafs.
What kind of leafs do you have? My xj/s10 bastard packs are relatively flat which makes them longer and keep my wheel centered at 6" of lift.
Driveshaft length and axle wrap are also some thing to keep in mind for this topic.

Should of stated in my first post, right now it has factory springs with blocks. I don't exactly know because I bought it that way. It actually flexes really good. That is why I wouldn't mind getting longer springs. It's a lot easier to just order those perches then go screwing around in a junkyard for some springs. Thanks for the replies.
but really what I'm asking is the s10 springs do move back about 2 inches? I'm not too worried about the d shaft It is already a little bit too long anyway.

How about ford ranger springs, no one has done this swap before? I don't want a bastard pack. I'm talking about the whole spring. I know they are longer. So I'll use shackle relocation brackets to fix the shackle angle. I would think longer springs =more flex?

Flatter springs = more flex
Proper shackle angle = more flex
I ran a 7-leaf XJ/XJ bastard pack with shackle relo boxes and it flexed like Arnold in the 70's.
Straight S10/Durango/Ranger leafs are going to be stiff. People typically use a couple leafs out of them, almost like an add-a-leaf.
Perches are honestly the easiest fix if you can weld or know someone who can.
