Long story short. Had a built 99 XJ. Totaled it. Transferred 75% of parts to a 97 XJ. I added a ruffstuff trackbar & JCR 1 ton otk steering. And have ridiculous bumpsteer. Any ideas?

Looks like a solid and well thought out setup. If all components are working as they should than there shouldn't be that much bump steer.

The track bar looks like it has slightly more angle than the drag link, but it's also shorter than the DL. Maybe try bumping the TB up one hole to reduce the horizontal movement of the TB.

Still have bump steer. It has to do something with these heim joints in this trackbar...

Are all these parts and joints new? It sounds like you must be getting some unwanted movement somewhere. Are you sure it's actually bump steer and not just wandering from another issue? Your geometry looks pretty spot on.

Have somebody cycle the steering lock to lock while you watch everything. I'd focus mostly on the track bar mounts and steering tre's. Also look for tire rod roll.

The length difference between the trac bar and drag link could also be part of the issue.

that's what I was thinking, but I thought bumping it up that hole would make it a bit better.

OP, did that change anything that you could notice?
