Default 2000 xj w/LED headlight upgrades

Hey Jeepers,

I have had the Anzo H4 Headlight conversion kit installed for some time now and liked the light output. Recently, our prices on H4 LED kits came down to where I could buy them and not have any buyers remorse. Well guess what, it looks like they aren't just plug and play like our rep said. The DRL module causes them to flicker, flash and strobe like a cop car having a seizure at a rave party.

The lights function properly once the headlights are actually turned on to either high or low beam but not on DRL function.

Wondering if anyone has an easy solution to my flashy blinky problem.

You'll need to disable the DRL. LEDs will only function above a certain voltage. The DRL circuit is feeding reduced voltage to the lights (that's how DRL systems work) and the LED lights are spazzing out because of it.

Yeah, thats what I've been figuring would be the likely route. Problem is that I can't just pull the fuse because it is also the passenger side high beam.

Going to start doing a little more in depth homework and see if I can just completely remove the system without harming other systems.

Thanks!

Does DRL = Daytime Driving Lights? I didn't think Cherokee's had that?

DRL = Daytime Driving Lights and mine has them.
Its probably year specific as they were not made law until halfway through the XJ's reign.
