Question Morel Speakers - XJ '98 (does it fit?)

Hey guys, how’s it going?

I’m looking to replace the original speakers in my 1998 Cherokee XJ Sport with Morel speakers.
But recently I saw people saying that Morels are too deep to fit properly in the front driver/passenger doors of the XJ. Is that actually true?

Does anyone know the maximum speaker mounting depth for the XJ front doors?

My XJ is currently at the shop so I don’t have access to the car right now, and I’m planning to order the speakers already so they arrive in time for installation as soon as the truck is done.

I’ve been researching the Morel Maximo Ultra 602 MKII and they have around 6.4cm mounting depth (about 2.5 inches, right?).
Do you guys think they’ll fit in the XJ doors while still keeping the original speaker grille and without trimming/cutting anything?

Would a small spacer solve it or is 6.4cm already too much for the stock door setup?

Thanks guys!

It'll be close.
I believe the max depth is 2-5/16".
The problem is the window glass clearance, not just the hole size.
