I got a kenwood head unit today at wally world on sale and it came with two 6.5 speakers. I've searched every where pretty much, I can't seem to find out could I use them in my front doors and what would it take to make to make them work?

 

I have a 96 xj and a put in 6.5" speakers front and back. They fit in with no problem at all. The 5.25 speakers are smaller than the holes made for them. 6.5 fit in snugly.

 

Thanks! But did you have to replace the stock speaker covers? And how did you get the speakers to fit int he rear?

 

I did replace the stock covers in the back because I wanted to use the grilles my speakers came with. I don't think the stock covers fit. I left the doors alone, all stock looking. I did make new holes in the sound bar for the bigger speakers, its real easy, I did it by hand with a screw driver no drill needed.

 

So you don't need to make holes bigger in the front doors? I'll be trying this tomorrow thanks!
