Hey guys since I'm not very good with modifications i was looking for a lift for my cherokee and I was gunna go with a 4.5 Inch Lift with Full Springs. http://www.rustysoffroad.com/rustys-...-pack-kit.html I know ill need a new steering stabilizer and Quick Discos. I'm not willing to spend that much more. So if I could get some help if I need other things that I need that would be great.

Steering stabilizer? Not a big deal.

You may want to look into a slip yoke eliminator, tho.

And Rustys doesn't have the best reputation.

Rustys springs and leafs are very good in there kits. I might suggest you go with a 3" lift instead of the 4 1/2" though because you can get by with less parts needed for it. I have had a Rustys 3" on for 2 yrs. now and zero problems and early this year upgraded to 4 1/2" and all HD parts using all Rustys parts about $2k worth in the ft end not including gears and lockers.

With the 3" kit all you need extra is an adj track bar and a transfer case drop bracket usually. You will need a set of wheels with the proper BS of 3 3/4-4" so no LCA rubbing.

The thing is I don't know what I have. It's just the stock axel for a 96 Cherokee.

Do a quick search here and you can see chart with photos of all the different differential covers to find out what you have in yours, it will be a D35 or a Chy 8.25 if you have ABS brakes it will be a D35. Hope that you have the Chy 8.25 it is the stronger of the 2 by far.

One thing go and request a build sheet from Jeep free easy and quick that way you will know everything that shipped on yours from differentials to gear ratio's. I had mine back in just a few hours by email nice to have, I have one for each of mine and got one for my son also all you need is the VIN #.

Also look at the Zone kit as well! We carry the Rusty's kit and many other kinds as well. If you have any questions about any of the kits, give us a call!

if your not willing to spend much more money on the lift dont lift your jeep wait cause you'll most likely need to spend money on other things... new sway bar links or disconnects, extended brake lines, potential new hardware and parts that could break with lift install

Wish the mods would make that cover sheet for differentials a sticky as many times as that question is asked.

Hey I have a quick question for you. So im thinking of getting my stock springs resprung by a leaf spring company here in my town. They charge 85 bucks a side. Then i wanna get a 3inch Lift. So is it worth getting a lift with all new springs or just do aal. And btw the springs resprung is like brand new.

Pretty much what is shown on the 4.5" lift from Rusty's. Shocks, Coils, Leafs, Extended rear brake line, etc. What a 3" lift should make you not have to buy/worry about is extended track bar(shown in Rusty's lift); depending on comfort, a SYE; my guess you would need an extended front drive shaft with the 4.5(still will need rear one with the 3" lift). With a 3" lift, you can run 31s with little to no trimming. Sometimes lift settle a bit differently. I am running a 3.5" lift from RE and fit 31s perfectly.
