I have a Lock Right Locker in my rear Chrysler 8.25. I understand the clicking noise around turns as the locker lets the faster tire ratchet forward. However, I also get the occasional very loud aggressive slam which can make the entire vehicle torque to one side or the other. It is as if the locker is ratcheting forward instead of backwards and under heavy load.
I am just trying to understand if this is normal and if so what exactly is causing it.

My buddy had someone install a aussie in the front of his d30 in his jk. His was doing the same thing so i pulled it and put the stock shims back in. He wheeled very hard the next day and drove home with no problems as before.
Does the lock right use new thrust washers?

No, they reuse stock, do you think they could be worn too far from tolerances?Originally Posted by weeder

Were the tolerances between the two in spec? How did the washers look?Originally Posted by ThePizza

Mine in my 8.8 has been doing that from day 1. First time it happened I thought i snapped a shaft in my neighborhood lol. My dad has one in his amc 20 under his cj7 and it does the same thing.
