Yea im intersted in this thread. I have a 8.25 rear 29-spline. I DD it, freeway, neighbor hoods.I wanted a lock-right in the rear, Something automatic. Then i started reading about a detroit in the rear daily driving. In the rain on turns i lose traction bad on the outside wheel. I am running street tires so this gives me even less traction. PS open diffs front and rear.

Thanks everyone for the input, keep it comin. I'm on a small budget, soo I'm making sure this kind of locker will do well for my uses.

I am also interested in lunchbox lockers. I was looking the other day at Aussie's site & they are currently out of stock on Chryco 29 spline 8-1/4" lockers. I wasn't going to do a front, but a few of you who have them seem to be OK on the road/DD so I may get both ends locked.

I run a Spartan in my Dana 35 I love it. I don't notice it on pavement unless I give a lot of throttle turning. It's there when u need it. Spartans no where as harsh on the road or loud as a lockrite
I run an Aussie with my ax 15. Can really notice it's there while turning tighter turns. A lot of times I just push the clutch in. Have also ridden in jeeps with a Detroit in the rear. Not much difference between the two while turning. Both locked in the rear. It will all come down to preference and how much $$$ you want to spend. As for locking front or rear first that's also up in the air. If live at a place with a lot of snow and ice where need 4wd would suggest a selectable locker in the front because an auto locker sucks. If it's in the rear that not so bad
Iv got a 2 buddy's on NAXJA.org they both run Aussie luchbox lockers in there DD...one runs both front and rear and the other one runs it only up
front i go wheelin with both of them and they both say they dont notice they even have them on or offroad other then having alot more traction....
