What options are out there in dirt tires, my rig isnt a daily driver and I have mxt mud terrains they work well but not like boggers I've ran in the passed.
I'm on a 33x13.5x15 ltb kick latly but got to thinking what other tires. Parnelli used to have some Marley looking dirt tires. Pitbull's look good must be good but are pricey.
I've cut my mxt thinking about removing every small outer lug or maybe half of it. I cut them in half to see if theyd chunk themselves out and a few are. I have considered recentering some h1 wheels nd running skid steer tires similar to these. I have a tire knive and could really have some fun with them. Offcourse not on the street well much. Only a few Miles from my house to some local trails.
Thinking what to do with the second stimulus if we get it.
Looking for tires in the 33-34 range 10.5wide to 13.5
Engine: 4.3L with headers and full 3" exhaust system
Just some old school experience here. You need pliable tires in the mud, or they will dig holes like they will on gravel and snow. Some of the best mud tires I have had were Armstrong true tracks. They don't look like much but did very well in Oregon mud. I would stay away from 16.5s since they are all going to be eight ply or better. Something like a Maxxis Trepador in a load range C would work well

We could have an interesting discussion about that. The owner of Coyote beadlocks and I had an interesting conversation about that. He measured rolling resistance aired up and down. It takes nine times the horizontal force to roll over a 2X4 in the driveway with aired up as down tires. The same thing happens with stiff sidewalls on tires made for trucks that carry loads. That is one of the reasons airing down is needed for any serious wheeling. You could do the same type of experiment yourself with different tires in the driveway just by measuring the amperage a winch uses when rolling over the proverbial 2X4
I dont mind airing down 10plys actually think I prefer it.
Yes i believe a tire with less air will raise vehicle less and roll over 2x4 with less resistance

the point I was trying to make is that a 4 ply tire will roll over obstacles better and easier than a 10 ply. I was thinking I might have an opportunity to measure this since I am replacing my axles with a different bolt pattern and have access to some 6 ply Swampers the same size as I run now. I would have to mount my tires on different wheels but it would be a fun experiment
That is a baddass looking tire. Every one seems to love it .its a bias tire so I guess isnt marketed in the us. I found some retreads of this tire on ebay but there 31s. So that got me to digging.
There may be one or two places in the us that has them or has access to them.
this tire pictured isnt available but the trekker II is in a 35x12.5 I'd run 35s to get it.
from reading it sounds like they run tall a 35 is more like our 36's
