Default lots of questions

i own a 87 xj 4x4 that i had to scrap . the only part im keeping is the transmission and transfer and front differential. i went and got a 96 xj not 4x4 . now my question is can i use the transfer on my 96 transmission

now my second questions is a lift related one. im getting 33ich tires now im re using my 87 3ich lift. i dont have to modified anything by being a 96? any advice?

Lift will be fine. The 2wd tranny will need a lot of work, new tail shaft to start with, to bolt a t-case to it. Better to find a 4wd tranny. You may get the 87 model one to work but you'll be swapping out all the sensors.

I don't mind the extra work this is gonna be a long project. Just gonna lift it and leave it 2wd. Till I get all the nice toys and make it 4wd But thank you for the advice

IMHO just keep it a 2wd or buy a 4wd to begin with and save yourself a lot of time, money and headaches.

True. To that but the reason I'm keeping it is the bad history of the last owner of the jeep you see they manage to wreck 5 cars I seen it there my neighbors.

I also read they jk shocks can be use for a 3ich lift? Is that true?

Was the 87 a 231 or 207 transfer case? If 207 it might take a little more work.

If I don't recall badly is a np231
