Default Looking for lockers

Well i just got my taxes done and im getting more back then i thought and to celebrate i decided the i should get lockers for my jeep. i have been researching getting them and i decided that i was gonna go with aussie front and rear lunchbox lockers but i just went to their site and both rear and front are out of stock. So what would you guys recommend as a good luchbox that is actually in stock somewhere? i was thinking about going powertrax lockright or no slip. i dont daily driver the jeep so a front locker will work for me.

This, except only for the front. Don't think they make one for c8.25 and if you have a d35, you don't want to lock it anyway. Noslips will soon be out of production is what I heard.

I have the 29 spline 8.25. i thought spartan lockers were just ebay specials that dont hold up is that not true? so if i went spartan in the front what about the rear?

No. They're made by yukon gear i think? I've heard good things about them. And they come with a hardened cross pin. I think the only options for the c8.25 29 spline are aussie and noslip in lunchbox style..

I've had the Spartan up front for a year and so far so good. Complete off road sent me an email yesterday saying they will have them in for the 8.25 in 2-3 weeks. If that is true then they just started making them. I think you can still find a lockright or an aussie for the 8.25.

Love my Spartan and it's holding up to my 38s just fine, can't say the same for my old Lockright. Rumor has it they will be making them for the 8.25 soon but not sure if it's the 27 or 29 spline.

In my old set of axles I had the set up your wanting to do and I hated it. The aussie was loud in the front and sucked in the snow because It was hard to use. My powertrax in the rear was ok. The thing I hated most was that I was always locked. When I put it in 4wd I was locked. i dident have a choice to unlock it, so everything was easy, and steering sucked. It I were you Ide save a little more and just go for ARB's man. There great. Only use them when you really want to, other wise you just stay unlocked and it much more fun. Just my vote!

Moparguy45, one thing I keep forgetting is that a lot of you guys drive in the snow for months on end. I'm on the FL/AL line. Which means I never drive in the snow. We have mud, clay and lot's of mud, Oh....did i mention we have mud so i have no idea how the lockers will handle in the snow. The only time I even hear mine are in a real sharp U-turn.

i dont drive my jeep on the road unless im going to an offroad park or event or there is so much snow that i think my daily driver wont make it since i live out in the country so im not to worried about that.

i just bought a lockright from a guy today for 80 bucks, its a buddie friend. it is used so i know that sounds bad but at least i know somewhat where its been plus all the splines look great and looks like very little wear. i will prob run 35s with it, and eventually swap to 4.10 ratio. is that prob a good idea?

Richieb9, I wouldn't run 35s with 4.10s unless I lived somewhere very flat. With 4.10s I would run 33s max and probably be better off with 32s.

just to hard on the gears or what is the major concern there? See i am currently putting on a 6 inch lift. So i dont want to small of a tire for the lift. I will get a SYE and CV also. So i want to do it right. In this case what would you recomend as far as tire size and gear ratio with the locker?

As you know the lower gears you have the more torque you have at the tires, with the I6 4.0 engine's relatively low power, the lowest gears possible are necessary to wheel the Cherokee on any serious trails. That is why I would go for at least 4.56 gears as a minimum ratio for 35s and 4.88s are my choice,
