You could always throw some coil spacers in there... ebay has some for cheap as do several other places

Or you could get some ZJ Coils from a JY (the v-8 grand cherokee) and throw a 1" spacer on there.

You will probably need new shocks either way.

X2 on the coil spacers, I believe V-8 zj coils only give 1" though?

Ive read a few different things. I think because the front of the XJ is much lighter than the front of a v-8 ZJ (v-8 being the key), you can gain 2" there. Have never tried it myself and it is probably easier just to spend the 50 bucks on the spacers.

I'd do v8 zj coils and a 1.5" spacer. That's how I did it.

The zj coils give roughly 1.5" I had the upcountry suspension on mine and when I swapped I only gain .5 of an inch lol

Well there ya go. Haha I stand corrected. It should ride better/be safer with the ZJ coils and a spacer than with just that huge spacer.

There's nothing unsafe about using a spacer on a coil, its essentially just lowering the height of the top coil seat. As for ride that's debatable, but I don't have enough facts. It may or may not ride better than stock because of the unknown spring-rate of the V-8 zj springs. They may be stiffer, or not.

Also there's geometry involved with your control arms when lifting that affects ride comfort. Shocks play a good part of that comfort though.

I don't know what the actual spring rate but I know the zj feels just about the same as the upcountry coil which I do believe does have a higher spring weight over stock coils if I remember correctly

Before you lift it make sure the front suspension is solid.
