Hello all, new to the form. Im on my my third Cherokee and I think this one definitely worthy of installing a lift kit. With only minor rot starting on the rocker, which I will be fixing soon, the full power options, working AC and five-speed transmission have prompted me to fix the sagging stock leave springs. With that in mind I have several questions about the proper lift to buy. I've narrowed it down to: I'd like to spend under/around $600 and it's my daily driver so I'd like to keep fuel costs and reliability. That leaves me the with the 3" or 4 1/2" lift kits. So my questions are: 1) with my already sagging rear leaf springs should I go with the add-a-lief or new rear springs and why? 2) is the transfer case drop required on either of these two lifts and why? 3) between 3" and 4 1/2" lift kits, which ones do you prefer and why? 4)what, if any, hidden problems am my going to run into with steering, driveshafts, or anything else? Thank you!!

With that budget 3" is all you will get.
Is also easier and less involved. Also for whatever reason not every Jeep reacts the same. Some can get away with TC drop some can't, same with SYE. Also depends on how it's used.
Add a leaf will sag right back in short time.

Yeah stick to a 3 inch or 3.5 inch and spend the money for full leaf springs,And if you care about how it rides you might want to spend more for better shocks. Most lifts that come with shocks are cheapo white body ones that suck.

For the best ride on and off road long arm lift is the best and at least a Bilstein 5100 shock, most long arm kits need 4 1/2" of lift to be effective, a few I do not how well they work use a 3 1/2".
A Rustys 3" full leaf/coil, shock, hardware pkg. runs $438 still I think and I have ran one for 4 yrs, now using it for a 4 1/2" lift. His leafs and coils the most important things are high quality and made in NA not China like some.
