Default Lifting my XJ

Hey guys! I'm new here, I have an 01 black XJ. I just completely rebuilt the engine in November, so only 3k miles ago, she runs perfect. I'm currently looking to lift it with the 4.5" RC lift kit, and put 32s on some new wheels.
Well, I ran into a problem with that. About 2 months ago, my family sold our house. We're living in an apartment, and therefor do not have a garage to work on my jeep. I don't have any friends with jeeps, and can't really lift it at someone elses home. So what I'm asking is, do you guys have any experience with having a shop lift your jeep? I'm not completely set on doing this, as I am still thinking on other ideas as where to lift it. But as of right now, a shop seems like the only idea. What would it run me if I bought all the parts, and only need the labor? I've seen some numbers like $200-400. But my dad thinks about the cost of the lift ($800).
Suggestions please! Thanks in advance!

Tire discounters did mine for $400 total. They had to do brake lines otherwise it would have been like $350 or less I think. I'm very happy with the results and didn't have to deal with the rusted bolts. They installed the rustys 3 inch advanced kit for me, along with a tcase drop

I lifted my jeep along with doing transfer case swaps, axle swaps, etc at the apartment parking lot.

One day I hope to be as skilled as you. I'm still in high school, and didn't trust myself doing a lift when mine was installed.

You might want to reconsider the lift, a 3 inch is typically a lot less involved and expensive and you can upgrade as you go where it's needed or go up to a higher lift once you get a good place to work on it. I did my 3 inch lift with only hand tools (no air compressor or electronic impact) in my driveway with only two small jack stands and a jack intended for cars, it took about a day of work with minimal help, one big thing that will save you a lot of time is renting a coil spring compressor from advance I tried without and eventually gave in after wasting a lot of time. I was 17 at the time with minimal experience but a lot of research, just set aside more time than you think you'll need and be prepared for the rear shock bolts to break, it's not that bad and you'll feel proud that you did it yourself.

You need to do your research on what all is required with a 4 1/2" lift and 32/33" tires such as new gears/lockers (same cost for labor if installed with gears). Also you will need an SYE for the transfer case.

You may want to reconsider on the lift kit your looking at also as quality is not one of their better known issues.

What I did was install a basic 3" lift with quality leafs and coils a Rustys full leaf/coil/shock pkg. and did a lot of fender trimming to run 33x12:50x15" tires. A year later I upgraded that kit using the leafs/coils to increase to 4 1/2" of lift and a lot of $$$$$.

The first photo is of my XJ with the 4 1/2" lift and the second is after I installed the basic Rustys 3" lift.
