Which long arm?
K I'm new to this forum, have been looking up threads on my phone, haven't made it far but haven't seen what I'm looking for either. So with that being said, I want opinions on different long arm kits, looking to go 6" or bigger.
What I've seen, (googling of course) are,
1. Rough country 6.5" long arm system, my personal first choice.
2. Rusty's off road 8" and 6" long arm systems, I like the 8" idea but don't see spending $450 more for 1.5".
3. I've really only seen those and a couple others but haven't remember their names. But like I said I'm budget minded (broke), and I'm looking to install it myself and I got no welder. But I'm looking to get a few hits on this to see what you guys think.
Info bout my XJ, 1989 I6 4.0L NP231 Dana 30/35 not sure the gear, 4" or so lift done mostly right, in my standards I'd rather replace rear springs not helper/lift spring add-on, BUT the rest is good and will all be for sale after you guys help me decide. Also I WILL be in mud crawling over rocks and driving it daily. I'm shutting up now. LOL.
Thanks for all your help.

Clayton and Serious off road both make KILLER long arm set ups that are far better then RC or rustys. you'll pay a little more but you get a lot more and they work. do it right once

check out BDS also.
Staangs Fab is a good cheaper alternative, but requires a welder only for a couple of stitch welds on the crossmember.

I'm my opinion iron rock offroad, rock krawler, and clayton make the best long arm kits. Iron rock is a few bucks cheaper too so thar would be my first choice. They do 6.5 and 8.5 I believe.
I'm going with Staangs fab for mine. Few bucks more but with a "we'll replace it no matter what" type warranty you cant go wrong. Plus they're Canadian so whenever possible i buy local.. well local ish. lol
I'm gonna check out that staangs one. That's first time hearing bout it. But right now I'm digging this forum been getting plenty of insight. I found this forum after following a you tube link for some guy who has the RC long arm lift. Was hoping to hear from him and see if he had to rebuild anything or have any problems and such. I guess when it comes to that time I'll get the best I can for the money I have. LOL.
Check out Staangs Fab on facebook too. They post a ton of stuff like builds and product comparisons on there.
He has a picture on the facebook page comparing his johnny joints to a competitors and its like 3 times the size. His stuff is bomb proof.

this is a response from a recent thread just like this one
these type of threads get you a lot of biased info. and they're just based off of opinions.
just keep in mind, there arent to many people who will admit they bought crap
It's pretty hard to screw up manufacturing a long arm kit, especially a simple radius arm setup like almost every name listed here sells.
