the studs were only used for alignment purposes. eric makes the crossmember a bit longer just so you can bend and weld it all up.
this kit is just as good, or dare i say, even better than claytons, and with much better customer service. very comparable design.
and yeah, any basement fabricator can muster up some arms using their dryer plug, but it's all in the crossmember fab.

they never did just rely on those. billy layed the beads on my rig personally.
