Lincoln lockerin a 8.25?
I like to weld 35's for the fun of it, if you plan on replacing it. . . f-it. There not for ever. And the 8.25 wont last much more welded either. I welded my rear while I built my 44 waggys and after bouncing on rocks in Las Cruces it gave too. Like they said some street manners will go away, (if you drove in a spooled rig you know what you got. I love my spool!) Best advice, keep the sway bar connected, it will go boom! try not to hop it to much. Oh yeah have fun!

Sorry guys I had bad reference material, I just crawled under the Jeep and it's a definite D35... Glad I got a parts rig with a C8.25, from what I hear sound like a lot of lunch box locker recommendation, I'm thinking I'm gonna just save for a Detroit TruTrac

dont bother with a truetrac in the rear. too much of a lsd and not a locker. do an aussie. cheaper and actually more affective. more noticeable, but its a jeep!

I welded my Dana 60 on my blazer with 40 inch mudders and was constantly breaking axles on the pavement. The tires were very large and I think would have held up better if I didn't "BEAT" it around every corner on the pavement but it was great off road...Tj

I wheel with a guy on 34'' TSL's and he's running a dana 35 welded and has seen no problems so far. We drive on dirt and mud over here though, so it doesn't see any rocks. I think it all depends on the terrain your on.

I don't think you'd find one with 4.56 from the factory and LS is just that, better score an open one and put a lunchbox in it.
I'm rolling on a hpd30 from another xj, and a 8.8 from an exploder both with factory 4.10s and i put aussies in both. I think its the best cheap combo you can get.
