Do yourself a favor and install the SYE at the same time as you do the lift, that is what I did when I went from 3" to 4 1/2". I also installed Adj. Upper/Lower control arms at the same time so I could adjust the pinion angle on the front differential (upper) and to center the tire in the wheel well opening (lower).
I replaced my TC chain and a gear at the same time as the SYE install all while installed in the Jeep.
I bought a new driveshaft for my XJ on eBay from Dave's Custom Driveshaft's he makes them for all XJ's and lift sizes for $199 + shipping.

I was asking, AFTER you install a SYE and new REAR driveshaft on your Cherokee, is it necessary, recommended, or for some reason, totally not necessary to do it to the FRONT driveshaft of the same XJ was what I was attempting to ask?
Thanks again...

Thanks Fred/NOAZZ I'm not skilled enough to do the lift myself so I'm having it installed at a shop. I'll look up Dave's on ebay and see if I can get the driveshaft in and install the SYE before I take it to the shop. I would rather have a nice comfortable ride home than experience the death wobble haha. I need to rebuild my t-case so installing the SYE while I do that would be alot better than installing it after the lift.

If you can remove, rebuild and reinstall your tcase you can do the lift. One of the great things about the XJ platform is they are very easy to work on. Everything pretty much makes sense and beyond stuck/rusted bolts/nuts it is completely straight forward. I had a shop do my lift first and I eventually changed most of the parts over the years, for better, and after doing that myself I dreadfully regret paying a shop.
No special tools are needed. You can do everything with hand tools, power is nice but not needed.
As for the driveshafts the reason a front shaft works for the rear is because of the type of shaft that the XJ uses in the front. A double cardan shaft. The rear stock uses a slip yoke on the output shaft of the transfer case and two ujoints. A SYE replaces the slip yoke with a fixed yoke which you attach the double cardan shaft to. You generally don't have to do anything to the front shaft after a moderate life except adjust the front pinion angle. Done with adjustable upper control arms.

However you go best of luck.

brancis1, I appreciate the response, only I'm not sure you understood my question, or I don't quite get the answer? this is the correct way to get a rear cv ds for your jeep, made to fit or find one the correct size thats a stock oem built one. jy one are a crap shoot , you dont know the miles on it or if it needs to be rebuilt. have one built to fit then you know what u got.

Contact XJwonders a mod here he sells rebuilt TC's with SYE's installed for a very reasonable price and he is quite good at it. PM him here on the forum.
