Default Lift Kit Questions

I've got a 01 cherokee xj sport edition rwd. I'm looking at a zone off road 3" lift kit along with new springs for the back. I'm not sure how to determine what axle I have for the kit, can someone help me find out what axle I have? Also, can I use the original U-bolts from the springs and use them with my new kit? Or do I have to use the new U-bolts that come with the kit?

Tons of threads on this subject. You probably have an 8.25”. If the pumpkin has a flat spot at the bottom then this is what you have. If not than you have a Dana 35

U-bolts are not to be reused. Ever.

Any good kit should come with new u-bolts.

You'll have one of two rear axles, the 8.25 which can be identified by a flat part on the bottom. The Dana 35 is probably what you have because Jeep went back to that towards end of production.

Good luck man!
