Which lift is better?
I'm looking at lifts for my 99 cherokee sport. My last jeep I had I went with rough country 4.5" short arm and 33s. It was a good lift for the price, but wasn't all too happy with the flex it gave me and a few other misc parts in the kit. This time I want to go bigger and with a long arm. Plan is to run 35s or 37s, not sure yet. I'm debating brands and the 6.5" long arm or the 8" long arm. Any input on which brand is better?

I couldn't find the 7.5" runicon express lift on their website anywhere. If you see it anywhere please post the link.
I was looking at the ironrock 6.5" actually. Does it ride pretty good on the road? i saw the flex photos. Very nice articulation!

The new xflex joints on the Rough Country long arms flex very well, even the ones on the short arms. IMO rubicon express is no better than RC just alot more expensive. Rough Country also has great customer service and a lifetime warranty

and short arms if set up right will flex just as much as long arms if set up right as the shocks are what normally is the limiting straps.... the only real reason for long arms is ride quality.
IRO
BDS
RC

all make good long arm kits with tcase skids built in.
also look at FrankZ's long arm. It is a BEEFY kit that is built correctly and can be built to spec as each one is hand made.
my RTI scores with my short arms
20* RTI- 1216
23* RTI- 1064
30* RTI- 832

Yeah I had the RC 4.5" short arm kit on my 94 cherokee with 33s. I was happy with the customer service, the kit was great (very easy install), and it took abuse. I didn't have the new xflex joints though and my fenders were barely trimmed so flex was very limited. It rode pretty good on the smooth asphault, but seemed very stiff offroad and on bumpy roads which was my biggest issue. I'm really debating there 6.5" long arm kit though.

Damn I hadn't actually looked at the ironrock website. I saw their lift on another one. They have an 8" lift for only $100 more than the 6.5" lift. They have a good warranty too. Ok I think I'm settled on the ironrock 8" long arm. Besides a sye, what would you recommend I get with it? Will 36s be too big for the stock axles?

yea you would need to beef the axles some if your running 36s- will have to regear... make sure you get the quick disconects from their site- kit comes with everything you need for the lift itself though

30 on front with 4.10s.. upgraded the axle shafts, trussed, and arb locker... 44 on rear with 4.10s, arb locker and disk brakes... have riddler covers on both
just thought ide note i have the truss from ironrockoffroad for the 30 too.. like it the best
got my drive shafts drom tom woods (4x4shaft.com) it cost a little bit but i havent had a problem yet and i beat the crap out of it (more mud and stumps here than rocks but took it in the mountains in MT a few times too)
