Default Leveling this Heep

1998 XJ currently sitting on a 3" lift. Actual measurements are 4.25"-4.5" rear, 3.25" front (measured from axle tube to rail). I have my winch bumper installed... Winch going on next week. I am looking to bring the front up a little and compensate for the extra weight. I see .75" & 1.75" spacers on Serious' website and I am trying to figure out which way to go. I think the rear will settle a little more, the lift is about 6 months old, but I only drive it about once every two weeks.

Do I go for the .75 and hope the rear settles more? Or go 1.75 and call it good? At some point... God knows when.... I'll be putting on a rear bumper w/tire carrier and some shackle relocators or sliders. Could be 6 moths, could be a year.

Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated.

I should add that I am on stock LCAs, would probably need to replace those if I go with the 1.75" spacers, correct?

i would go with the .75 spacer which would put you at 4 in the front and 4.25 in the back. if you went with the 1.75 spacer it would put you at 5 in the front and 4.25 in the rear. and the rear end will most likely end up sagging more so i think the .75 spacer would be best

That's pretty much what I was thinking until last night. Doing math in my head while trying to go to sleep made me pose this question... the front (stock) is about .75 higher than the back. To keep that same relationship, I need about 1-1.5" added to the front?

Am I over thinking this?

This is the only way to dial in the front perfectly.

Not exactly true, the ACOS is a nice product, BUT... there are other all steel options out there, maybe not as nice but WAY cheaper

I saw these on your site as well. I have heard good things about them and they do look really nice. I think I will go the spacer route for now and get everything set up, all components on, trim fenders, lose my mind, get bigger tires, and eventually buy these.

I will be ordering the xrc rear bumper w/ tire carrier at some point as well.

i have the same qustion...i have a 3" lift ony 1990 xj an i'm thinking of putting a 2" spacer up front on coil springs an doing a 1.5" to a 2" shackel in the rear giving me a total of about a 5" lift...i'm i headed the right or wrong way?i just find this to be a cheap way out to get me set higher for the type of wheeling i do...thanks for any and all info...plan to run 32x11.50x15 tires

I was thinking about going the same route but ended up deciding to try my hand at the low COG setup instead. Going with a small spacer up front to see if that levels things out with the winch If not, I'll be putting some 4.5" coils or ACOS from Serious and trying to stay right around 3.5. Some well thought out trimming with bump stops should let me fit 33s or even 35s, perfect for around here.
