lengthened control arms for axle clearence questions
alright heres the idea
using the factory control arm location, use longer control arms to push the front axle further forward for more tire clearance from the firewall, then fabricate new mounts for coil overs.
the goal is to only use 3 in of lift to fit 38's. im also swapping a OM617 in my cherokee, which has a front sump that interferes with axle movement.
i plan to also push the rear axle the same way and use coil overs with the same control arm setup.
first, has anyone done this before?
and what recommendations for components does anyone have? or any bad jojo's in the plan.

Uhh... he wants to fit 38's, I am hoping he's realized that the stock upper control arms won't work. Lol. At any rate, sounds like a good plan, are you going to be building your own rear suspension then?

im figuring the easiest way to do it is to use a set of used adj long arms, chop them to length, and just move the panhand bar mount forward, or set it up with a 4 point system.

Mount strength is a big issue you will be increasing the torque apllied by making the arms longer and the added weight of 38s also dont go to far or you will have to relocate battery and ecu and cut the bulge. remember to bumpstop.

What axles are you planning on?
And you can't just pull the track bar off with a 4 link, if its not a double triangulated 4 link it will wander..
