Question leaf vs. coil

I have a 6.5 rockrawler LA suspension on 96 xj and need to replace rear springs. I was thinking of going to coils but dont know, I mainly trail ride west Texas serious angles on the edge of 1000ft. cliffs so I really need stability. What do ya'll think would be best option coil conv. or good atlas 4.5lift spring pack?

Could run coils and some sort of anit-rock swap bars front and rear. Everyone I've talked to loves having those type of sway bars front and rear for sketchy situations, then they adjust them and hit the road

Coils are superior to leafs in almost every way.

Where can i get info on anti rock sway bars. Trailing in the beach mountains in west Texas and felt like the body roll was going to take me off a few cliffs, blown rear leafs and no sway bars probably didnt help much.

Currie enterprises sells a nice anti-rock sway bar for XJ's. Check out the website:

If you are going to fab the 4 link yourself... I say go for it.... If you have a crap load of money burning a hole in your pocket.. BUy the kit. If not buy yourself a nice set of leaf springs (alcan, deaver, or other reputable company), add a shackle relocation kit, and call it good.

I went with high quality National Spring (10 leaf) packs and couldn't be happier. Smooth ride, no sag or wheel hop and easily get 11" of travel with the Bilsteins I use. I use the JKS boomerang shackles also. There's more to leaf spring tech then just connecting two points with a piece of flat steel, but most 'kits' out there supply junk leafs that aren't worth much more. It's also a simple bolt on affair with no extra anti-swaybar needed to add stability. Deaver and National are two companies I have dealt with and they know their stuff.

X2

If you coil it I'd definitely run anti-rocks for the stability. I have one on my list here shortly.

Go against the grain and do leafs... more stable, and can flex like mad IF you set it up right... half *** it and all these other guys here will have been right.
