Leaf spring shimming ?

Leaf spring shimming ?
I am buying RE 3.5" full leafs and going to use a 1" shackle to get 4.5" of lift to match the front . my ? is will i need shims or will the shackles increase the pinion angle. i can do a Hack-n-Tap if needed but just wanted to see what u guys thought

We can't say if you need shims or not.
Most likely yes.
You want the t-case out put and the pinion at the same angle might need to shim for this
UNLESS
you have the hack/tap where you want to shim the pinion up to face the t-case

ok so can i put it all together and see how it looks and drives then do a h&t and shims if needed. also at 4.5" should i go with 4* shims

I kind of went out on a limb and bought 6* shims for close to the same setup..
But..just to for-warn you..those RE 3.5" leafs will probably put you at 4.5 inches of lift.
Anyway..here is my RE 3.5" packs with the shims installed

are those RE shims and do they come with the new center pin. if they dont come with the pin what size pin do i need . also hows ur pinion angle with those shims and are u running a SYE

Its not anything on the leafs you have to drill..its the perch on the axle..
Ive had to do it the last 2 times ive put a lift on.. just bore the hole a bit.. then let a hammer and the weight of the jeep do the rest.
