You need some drop brackets for your shackles to improve the angle. Also I would ditch the pro comp shocks. I always had a really stiff ride with mine.

A boomerang shackle will change this... But so will a regular shackle at the proper length... Thats why RE sends you a 4.5in spring pack and 2in shackles to give your 6.5... It corrects shackle angle... Moving the rear mount will as well but is alot more money and work... Mostly only worth it for chevy 63's or whatever...

How will a longer or shorter shackle fix the picture above? How will a boomerang shackle fix it? Boomerangs help with clearancing, not with angle.

yeah, extended shackles actually hurt your angle.

the combination of 8" lift, short arms (though the angle isnt too bad), and bad shackle angle is likely whats causing the rough ride.

the bottom spring looks like its an overload spring, so it shouldnt be affecting your ride at all and if you remove it, wont make your ride any better.

Not enough time to explain... And boomerange shackles were designed for more droop when flexing... But in return tend to unload when going downhill... And lift boomerang shackles will add more clearance yes... Stock length ones no...

proper shackle angle....



Is it harsh more in the fron? or rear? if its all over the place i would think the shocks are not a good combo with your vehicle weight/setup. If its mostly in the rear I would do a shackle relocation (OP's angle is horrible) like mine was before the relocation. The long arms made a huge difference too. but not as much as my shackle relocation and new shocks. My XJ rides very nice and smooth, get comments all the time.
