Default Leaf spring question

Some my xj rides real stiff, and I was wondering if I took out the very bottom leaf, would it improve my ride?

I doubt it. Your driving a lifted jeep, it's gonna be a stiff ride mate...

What's your shackle angle look like?

Hmmm... I will have to see where this goes ...good question I would think that spring the bottom one is the one that helps with heavy loading ... I am sure u will lose some of ur lift....

My shackles are pretty much straight up and down, I don't haul or toe anything, and the jeep is a little higher in the rear anyway lol. One more thing how do you feel about pro comp shocks? That's what I have

The Shackles could very well be it. IIRC, the optimum shackle angle is like 45 or so degrees, which allows for good spring flex. If it's straight up and down, the shackle can't flex.

i would assume the ride is because of the setup you have, i think 8 inches in too much lift for a short arm and might be causing a lot of stress....maybe someone else can give some input on it

Shocks aren't properly valved out the box. Also check bushings. Could be old. I'd also check motor mounts. When there shot. The ride isn't all that great. Not stiff but definitely not smooth of a feeling. I just went through this with my jeep.
You could do a boomerang style shackle like JKS.

A boomerang shackle is not going to achieve anything for fixing the angle. You need shackle relocation brackets. Those leafs look nice and somewhat flat. I wouldn't take a leaf out.
