I'm gonna have the front end apart to install a ZJ tie rod and adjustable track bar and I'm wondering if I should put in adjustable Lower Control Arms and possibly Upper Control Arms as well while doing so.
I'm wondering if this is kinda overkill for a 3" 31" tire setup. Jeep is used for trout fishing in the most remote parts of Michigan. I do wheel it, but I don't attack boulders on extreme western trails.
As usual before I make any moves I want to consult the panel of experts.

 

I've been on 3" with 31s for over 4 years with the stock control arms. I recently went with new arms so I can get more axle flex (I do tackle boulders in the West) and to dial in my caster. If you don't even disconnect your front sway bar, I would recommend sticking with the stock arms and put your money towards something you'd actually use and benefit from.

 

When I was at 3" and no SB disconnects I ran the stock U/LCA's but when I went to 4 1/2" installed HD Adj. U/LCA's with disconnect for more flex. But the stock was fine for a year with the 3" if you can afford to do so its a good idea along with a good adj. dbl. shear track bar, then don't worry either again.
