Need Front End Help.
I got a 2000 wj about 2 months ago and replaced the thermostat and the radiator and that solved the over hearing issue. Now I'm having issues with a clunking noise when I hit any kind of bumps. I checked to see if it was wheel bearings by doing the wheel shake test, but didn't take the assembly apart yet. Before I do that, does anyone have any other suggestions as to what it might be? A buddy of mine said he thinks it's the stock front end bushings. Would that cause it to make that noise?

Worn bushings can cause a clunk, bushings that break loose from their brackets or control arms will most certainly cause a clunk.

Old fart with a wrench
Also check the shock absorber bushings and mounting bolts.

check calipers as mentioned, also the bump stops break off and float around inside the coil springs.
