KJ disk conversion parking brake cable solution
I installed KJ disks on my 93 xj a few months ago and never got around to a good solution for the parking brake cables, I tried doing the loop and u-bolt clamp rig, which I had done on my old 96 with zj disks, but I managed to nick the cable with the dremel when cutting the springs and messed them up pretty good. Plus the cables are 25 years old and I never really liked the loop/clamp trick any way so I tossed the stock cables and decided to find a better solution.
Eventually I finally got around to getting new cables and wandered upon these "G2 Axle and Gear 95-2049PC5 Emergency Brake Cable 52 in. Length Front Equal Length For Use w/Disc Brake Conversion Emergency Brake Cable" they are intended for use with the G2 conversion, but so far they appear to work perfectly on my KJ set up and I don't see why they wouldn't work with ZJ disks either. I researched them a little prior to buying and couldn't find any confirmation that they would work, so I thought I'd share in case any of y'all are in the same position I was in. I got mine on amazon, and they only cost slightly more than a stock replacement( I think I paid 22.50 per cable) just make sure you save the springs that attach to the chassis that the hold the cables up to reuse them, other than that they fit perfectly and are very well made as far as I can tell.
