Hey guys, my buddy is selling his axles out his JK sport - stock Dana 44 rear and a built up Dana 30 front. I'm thinking of buying them and swapping into my 01 XJ, then doing a 4.5" lift on either 33's or 35's.
I'm fairly green, just bought my XJ a few months ago and have learned a lot since I've started working on it. Has anyone done this swap / have any advice? I've seen a couple people do similar swaps, one dude on youtube did an axle swap from a rubicon JK, seems like there's going to be a decent amount of welding involved and I sure as hell can't weld! lol
Thanks all

You will have to remove all the JK mounts from the axles and weld new mounts on to fit them to the XJ. The JK axles are wider. Its not worth it for sport axles, at least with rubicon axles you'd get lockers.

They are also a little wider than the XJ axle. There will undoubtedly be some issues with front track bar and steering hook up. This isn't a swap I would attempt unless I had some fabrication skills
