JK Hard Rock Wheel Fitment
Hey everyone,
I picked up a set of 5 JK Hardrock wheels yesterday, with some well worn and used BFG KM2's, (with the exception of the new spare) picked up the set for $460 which I think was a good buy. I like the 'factory upgrade' look, really on any vehicle, which is why I picked them up, searching the web I know people run the newer 5 on 5 wheels on the older Jeeps and I've ordered some Spidertrax 1.25" adapters to fit them. The Jeep spends more time commuting than wheeling but I'm hoping running these wheels with spacers wont be an issue.
I plan on lifting my Jeep with a Rubicon Express 4.5" lift but am not going to get around to it any time soon. I figured at least I'd have the wheels when I do. I also have been considering installing some Notch Custom fender Flares
I'd like to run the new wheels in the interim and doing some research It looks like there are some guys who have been able to fit JK wheels with a simple economy lift, with some rubbing of course.
I was wondering if simply removing the stock flares along with a 1.5" Rough Country lift would be sufficient to clear the wheels? The tires are a 255/75 R17 but are worn down a good 1/4" or so. The nice thing about the Rough Country lift is that I'll get some new shocks and I can re-use the front coil spacers as I've heard that you need to space out the front when you install and RE lift because the rear sits much higher.
Notch Customs site states that you can run up to a 31.5" wheel on stock suspension with their flares, and I got confirmation that a 32" wheel should fit. Have also been considering pulling the trigger on the Notch flares.
If these wheels don't work out at least I can turn around and sell them, I'm hoping they do

You’ll be ok height wise with your plan and nothing wrong with wheel spacers if torqued properly. As far as rubbing the LCA’s when at lock or clearances under full compression I wouldn’t know. For road use you’ll be fine.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll be OK with just a fender trim tbh because that's virtually what is being done with the Notch flares. May try that route instead
