JK Tires and Wheels on XJ
I have a 97 XJ COuntry and bought some new take-off JK tires and wheels reasonably. They are 245 75 16's which puts them at about 30.6". THe bolt pattern is 5 on 5" so I need adapters. THe adapters will push the wheels out by about 1.25" Will I have any rubbing with all else being stock and mostly street driven? I also need a speedo gear 32 tooth if anyone has one out there let me know. THanks!

I am not a fan of adapters as they are weaker than the hub. They will be the weakest link for your tire/wheel/hub/suspension assy.
Most stock Cherokees with stock wheels can run up to a 235/75R15, which is about 29.5" tall. Anything bigger hits, even on the street.
The JK wheel offset is probably different, but with the adapters this may not be an issue.
I guess you could always try it. If it doesn't work, you will only be out the adapter price, 20 lugnuts, your JK tires & wheels, and your time. And maybe some underbody components and your fender flares.

I think because he got those JK tires & wheels at a "good price", so he won't have to buy new 15"s.
This will probably end up costing him more in the long, or maybe in the short, run than a new set of 15"s.
Just sayin'.

$175 for 5 tires and wheels with less 4000 miles. All like new plus spare is new. 175+100(adapters). So far 275 invested. Even with a $200 lift kit I have only $475 invested which is about what I was going to spend on tires and now I have a lifted XJ and cool new wheels.

If you're going to lift it, which you did not indicate in your original post, you'll probably clear.
