Default Jeep xj mirror swap

I have an 84 jeep cherokee and to see anything is a pain. The old style manual mirrors don"t really even work. I was thinking of putting some 97 manual jeep xj mirrors, some mirrors of an old land cruiser to give it an old or possibly even dodge and or chevy tow mirrors??? WHat do you think i should do

The mirrors that look like this off a 70 series land cuiser

mirrors from the 97+ xj

or possibly even these chevy tow mirrors???

Personally, I'd avoid anything that involves drilling new holes in the sheetmetal. The 97+ mirrors are pretty much a direct swap.

Not what I'd call a direct swap, as tweaks have to be done to get them mounted up with no leaks, but not too bad.

I've mounted 97+ mirrors on my 87 with no leaks or problems as well.

Tow mirrors would look ridiculous on a Cherokee. Way too big, and useless. Get 97+ mirrors and swap. Look right, easy, and cheap.

On mine, the bases didn't sit right on the door, and I had to file them some AND move the trim back to get them to sit without a 1/8" gap at the top of the base.

Cheap made overseas crap I guess, even tho they were new
