Default Jamb nut for old style Rustys track bar

I have been trying to track down a jamb nut for the tierod end on my older style Rustys trackbar. I believe that it's the 91-00' style. Does anyone know where I can order one from? It's a really weird thread, like 18x0.688.

Nope. I've talked to NAPA, Rusty's, O'reilys, OK auto parts, fastenal, northern states supply, and the dealership...so far I've struck out everywhere. I'm on the verge of welding the tierod to the trackbar and ordering a different one since this is such a Pita!

Is the rod end an off the shelf replacement type or a Rustys only part?

Not sure if this link will work or not but Napa does carry jam nuts. Napa Jam Nuts.

An 11/16-18 jam nut would be my guess on it anyways. Your guess of 0.688 would be 11/16. Rusty's sells them.

id take the end off and find a welding shop or hot rod shop and find out exactly what size it is then go from there

It's 18x.668, that what napa told me the tierod thread was. I'll see if I can fund an 11/16-18 and see if that works.

Well, I can't find an 11/16th nut either. NAPA, Advanced, O'reilys, and northern states supply all told me that no ones used an 11/16th nut forever.
Rustys sells then, but they want to Charente me $22 to ship it. That's ridiculous, it's one nut, they can practically drop it in an envelope with a stamp and send it.

So tomorrow I'm going to try a few more of the industrial supply places, and call Rusty's and see if I can get a more realistic shipping qoute. If I don't figure it out tomorrow, I'm going to weld the tierod to the track bar so I can drive the jeep, then I'm going to Order an Ironrock offroad track bar to get rid of this headache.

4wd Hardware has them. $6.99 and $3.99 for shipping. Better but still alot of money for a nut. Clicky
