i have not run the rc long arm but i had the 4.5" short arm with full packs. rode like a dump truck. obviously the long arm will ride better. but I have the 5.5" long arm from iro that I just bought a month or 2 ago and put in my new xj. it rides better than stock. flex is rediculously good. No signs of wear yet. i had rc's adjustable tracbar and i was replacing the tierod end twice a year. the doubleshear tracbar from iro i wonders better. the 5/16" dom that iro uses for the long arms make rc's arms look wimpy. ive gotten air and landed on the "Y" on a nice slab of granite. scrathed the paint a little thats all. There's no competetion at all ive had both. all i can say is the 8 people that voted for rc have never rode on or offroad in an xj with Iron Rock Offroad. not too mention the customer service there at IRO is next to amazing.

Actually i voted for RC and yes ive rode in an IRO lifted rig. RC does ride stiffer but not by much. I think they have a 10% stiffer spring than stock which helps some if you plan to run heavy bumpers and recovery equipment. Ride quality on the street aside they will both perform and flex the same offroad. Both setups can produce more articulation that an xj can handle lol. The OP cant go wrong with either one for a budget build. I just prefer RC crossmember skid and their radius arms over IRO setup and cam adjuster. I wouldnt compare IRO long arm size to RC short arms or the ride quality, apples to oranges.

Why bother people don't even bother to search. We've both spent to much time already on this subject.

Another reason i do not want to spend alot of money on a lift is for the simple fact that i do not go wheeling alot....I prob go once a month if i am lucky. half the time when i do go off roading it is in creek bottoms and mud pits.

Sooo i am kinda trying to figure out what would be the best set up for me...i go not want to go bigger on tires because right now i got 31/10.50/R15 km2s.

So right now these are the lift kits i am looking at.

$829

Default lifts

So since i do not go wheeling alot should i even go long arms? like i said i do not want to go bigger than 31s because i just bought a brandnew set of km2s.

Could i get away with going with the following? Throw away the AAL use shackle relocation kit instead, remove rear sway bar, and rock the quick disco up front? Then next on list is winch bumper and winch?

4.5" rc lift = $460
shackle relocation kit = $120
adjustable track bar= $130
heavy duty tie rod = $66
quick disco = $70

Total = about $850

if you are wanting to build a more capable rig that $830-$1300 would be best put towards lockers and 33's IMO

if you just want to be taller, then go for the suspension.

Well right now my tires tear into my fenders I plan on putting a ausie or Yukon locker up front. Then geting a bumper and winch. 900 is all I got to spend towards a lift I already got the money for the locker

Pretty much anything over 31s you will either have to cut your fenders and/or run cutout flares. By the way long arms have a much better ride on the street than short arms. My background on that basis is from long arm systems ive owned in the past on my fullsize dodge rams.

If you dont go offroad much why even waste the money on a locker

because when i do go off road right now the traction is causeing me to not make it through things. Like i tryed to climb over this rock and 1 tire was off ground and the other was not the one in air was spinning as the 1 touching would not spin.....So i figure if i go up to 4.5 inch that will give me little more clearance, trim my fenders, lock the front, remove rear sway bar, and get quick disco for front. That will allow me to do what i want to do. there is always time later on for when i get into wheeling more to upgrade to long arms, axle ect.....
