I'm shopping for a LA upgrade now and was considering the IRO set up, but after a lot of online research I've decided to stay away from it mainly for the reasons listed above.... Same with RC kit (for different reasons than the IRO one though). Think I've narrowed it down to either Serious, Full traction or Clayton for mine.

I just bought the Clayton pro 3 link due to wanting the 3 link design and to not have to deal with the stock upper control arm axle bushings anymore due using Johnny joints on all ends of the control arms. Serious offroad would be my next choice due to the quality and good price. I would personally stay away from all the cheap brands like rc due to having horrible experiences with their cheap joints. I had to rebuild my rc joints 4 times in the last 6 months since I bought them and they are bad again.

I've been happy with everything I've bought from them. I was going to buy there longarm. But I just don't know now. wonder how in the hell they even came up with that. Weird idea. Hey lets make the caster rely on 10mm.

not bashing it but... probably cheap to reproduce. id probably just put a sleeve or equivalent tubing over the bolt between brackets(in my mind some kind of shim over the bolt maybe with washers..), seems like a cheap enough fix, i'd have to see it in person..

Unless you guys have had that bolt break, I wouldn't bash. They beat the crap out of their products when testing and if they are willing to warranty any problem at all, I would feel comfortable using it. Intact, when I comes time to im going to upgrade my 4.5" short arm to the IRO Long arm upgrade. For $600 and as bulletproof as the rest of it looks, im willing to put it under mine.

ive had that bolt break using different arms. theres a reason all the other manufacturers use larger diameter bolts when running just one upper arm.
its simply a stupid design. a warranty wont pay for all the parts that break when your axle is left to rotate around once that bolt breaks. a buddy of mine ran this kit for a month and the axle hop was horrendous and the adjuster bracket failed. iro wouldnt warranty it. as for iro beating the crap out of it. i have yet to see them post a picture that isnt emphasizing the useless amount of flex you can get out of any longarm.

Look through my thread at what ive put my IRO through. I have ran offroad washes and been a chase rig at parker 425 score races. At speeds of up to 50 mph with no issues. sounds like bolts didnt get checked to make sure they are thigh. I check mine every oil change. I have had no issues.

The kit only uses 3 bolt per side to hold the x-member on the "frame".....that is another weak point, IMHO. I helped a friend put one on, and after seeing that, as well as the cam adjuster thingy, I opted to keep what I had, and do more research. I don't have faith in adding one more bolt to accommodate the stresses that a radius arm LA kit puts on the x-member. I'm glad some folks have had good luck with the kit, but IMHO they have some work to do to improve the strengths of certain aspects of the kit. The majority of the kit is beef, but the weak spots, quite frankly, terrified me!! We have vendors here that build a much more rugged kit than IRO, and the prices are very reasonable....HTH!
