Default Install New Front Brake Lines

Looking like im gonna have to buy at least new front brake lines after i get this lift done. Dropping the axle pulled my stock ones pretty tight and id prefer not to snap on on the trails. The rear has plenty of slack. How hard is it to change out the front? The part thats stretched too far is the rubber part that comes from the pressurized hose inside the fender and into the pressurized fitting on the caliper.

Very easy.

And Chevy1500 lines work really well, I forget what year.

Just make sure you bleed the brakes really well once you swap the lines.

Ive read that too. Pretty cheap from what i understand. How do they fit in the pressure fittings? Or does the new brake lines have all the new fittings? Also by bleeding im guessing loosening the bolts into the calipers, having someone press the brakes, and while they are pressed tighten the bolts up?

To bleed you'll wanna pump the brakes 3 times, and hold down on the 3rd press. Have someone open the bleeder to release the air and pressure, and close the bleeder again before letting up on the pedal. Do this several times til NO air comes out, just solid squirts of brake fluid.

Would that be done where the line goes into the caliper? I know that your build thread had something about dropping that bracket in the fender, think thatd work for me or no?

The fittings on the caliper should be compatible.

I did straighten out the hard line and drop the bracket a bit. But that isnt always enough.

Those fittings should be the same as well.

Sweet, Ill be doing that next then. Ive heard that stock brake lines will worn on a 4.5 but I wanna be for sure. I know that when I dropped my axle they were stretched to the max, wonder if I damaged them.
