Default Ideas on removing side windows on 2Dr

The molding around the back side windows on my 92 2dr needs replacing. It also has the small windows that open.
Found a couple doners at the bone yard so Ill be off to get them out. I have only seen a posting for removing them from a 4 door that doesnt deal with the side windows. Anything beyond the obvious to look out for in doing this?

I've done it on my two door, very easy to do. Just bring a bunch of flat screwdrivers with you. String and screwdrivers will help put the new ones back in.

Yes, it is very easy. Take a flat blade screw driver & carefully pry the window gasket out of the frame, working your way all the way around the window. Only takes a few minutes. The window & gasket come out as one unit.

It takes a little longer to get the window back in. For me, it took about twice as long to get it back in.

You may want to bring a friend to stand outside the truck to catch the glass while you work from the inside.

Tried the brick first.. messy and seemed like a hassle taking the window in and out of the seal. Luckly they had a second two door.
Was a breeze as you all have said. Removing it with the windows in. Had seemed they needed to come out first. Once i had it started a foot or so I just yanked it out from the outside.

TMAC: I get the screwdrivers but how does the string come into play in reinstalling it?

When your ready to install, lay a length of string/thin rope around the inside track of the rubber gasket. Place the window on the outside and start to get the gasket over the edge of the metal. Once you get it started, you can pull on one end of the string and when the string rides over the metal, it will bring the rubber gasket with it. Much quicker and easier than a screwdriver marking up the paint all around the window.

Finally I understand String Theory.

Thanks TMAC.

Default String Theory Window Installation

I used this method as well. Takes two people and about 10 minutes per window max. Helps to use 1/8 cord soaked in soapy water. And have the top, and rear interior trim out. Lower trim can just be pulled in at the back, since getting the front of it free is a hassle and not necessary.

Lots of installation write ups and vids on the forums. Check them over. Make life easy.

And remember, the seals for the vented windows are very different than the non vented windows. I got rid of my vented windows. Just for looks. I use it as a cargo hauler and have no back seat.
