Default I just ordered a locker :D

Dad bought me an 8.8 from the JY for Christmas and I got some 4.88s and rebuild kits for it and my front D30 on the way from a member here. I asked Autoanything for a discount on the locker and they gave it to me. I went with the Grizzly Locker. I shouldn't have spent the money but I really want to do this right. I might have to get one for the front too before I get it all together. Then find some 33's, get em stuffed in there and start figuring out armor. I think I need a second job!

This is not mod tech. This belongs in chat.

Do you know how to set up gears? I like the grizzly lockers.

This is in mod, right? Yeah, I've set up quite a few gears. That's no problem. I have a nice bearing puller and a press so I don't have to use setup bearings or anything. I'll try to get some pics when I get to start working on it.

You could have started a build thread & posted in there.
You'd post here if you have a question.

Do you think 4.88s & 33s will be a good match? Or did you plan to go to 35s in the future?

Oh. My bad. Yeah, I think I'll like 4.88s and 33s. I always like to keep my stuff on the edge of daily drivable. Plus, I checked to see if there was a speedo gear for that combo and there is. It doesn't hurt to know that I can run 35s if I ever want to.

With 4.56's and 33x10.5's it felt like I had a race Jeep. Should be a good combo for crawling too.

I finally got the Jeep on the road again. I haven't gotten to test the lockers offroad yet but they're definitely doing their thing. I do notice that it clunks pretty good if I let off the gas quickly and every time the Jeep downshifts into first while I'm slowing down. I got the backlash within spec but it still seems like there's a lot of slack when turning the pinion before it engages the axles. Is this typical of these lockers? It seems like it might be hard on my U-Joints.
