Hey, just wanted to let everyone know that my setup had a different trac bar bracket.
ericfx1984 is having a crying fit over my incorrectly remembered statement. I just wanted him to feel less butt hurt and give him some closure so he can feel better about himself.
That is all.

I just get kinda mad when people try to give out incorrect information, some times bad information can cause BIG problems...
my buddy was told that the knock sensors on the toyota MR2 turbo was junk, he had turned up the boost and had went thru a few of them in a 1 week period...
some guy on mr2 forums told him it was a design flaw in the knock sensor... well turned out that this bad information caused him his engine...
convincing another Jeeper that his axle is centered at 3" lift with no mods can cause issues on the street... most likely it will not but it can make the steering a little unpredictable
and for someone that does not know what to expect in this case... it could cause them to freak out and over correct causing a wreck, worth case scenario... even if it is unliklely
the only other issue I see with Gee Oh Dee is he has a 'know it all' attitude, and when he doesn't really know it all, and you try to educate him so that he is not spreading his false knowledge around, he gets mad and attacks...

I'm pretty sure no one is going to blow their motor or have an accident directly related to me incorrectly remembering that my truck has a relocation bracket.Originally Posted by ericfx1984

But my bad.
I'm also pretty sure I haven't attacked anyone. But if so, I apologise for hurting your feelings.

I vote for a 2". No sye, most of the time, looks better than stock and performs offroad. Get a full leaf pack, 2" coil springs, some skids, sliders etc... and you have a solid base for when you want to go higher.
Stock shackles OME full packs and OME 2" coils:

If when I go higher, SYE, TB, in the rear I'll go OME AAL, +1", Shackle, +1". In the front Long arm and hopefully JKS adjustable coil over spacers w/ bumpstops.

if you lift an XJ and do not relocate the trackbar or replace with an adjustable it WILL pull the axle toward the drivers side... it is simple geometry
the track bar is mounted to the frame on the drivers side and to the axle on the passenger's side
as you lift the truck you are spacing the axle further away from the body, which in turn has the same effect as shortening the track bar...
on a 3" lift the axle will shift around 1/2" to as much as 3/4"
unless you installed a track bar bracket to correct this then your wheels are not tracking straight...
the higher you lift the truck the more you notice this... but again, just because you do not notice it does not mean it has not happened
they might not be off much... but it IS off ... just because you choose not to address the issue, or you are unaware of the issue does not mean that the issue is not there

This is true, sometimes. I've seen it happen, but i've also seen it not happen. depends on the jeep!
