Default how to tell what size lift

Sorry guys if this ? has been asked before , but one of my buddies got a Jeep and previous owner didn't know what size the lift it is , so all he knows is its a long arm

Set it beside a stocker and measure?

Don't forget to account for taller tires.

Measure front coil? Compare to a stock. Seems easiest way to do it.

If it still has the stock flares, measure from the center of the hub to the bottom of the flare. Stock measurements are 17.5" for the front and 17" for the rear. Tire size is irrelevant.

Not so much...coils could be longer or shorter depending on diameter of wire used to make the coil, distance between coils, number of wraps....well, you get the idea...
