Hey just kind of wondering if anybody runs these louvers...http://www.hoodlouvers.com/product-c...ershood-vents/

I know theyre pricy, but im not a fan of the lebaron vents, and i experimented with an old hood and a custom vent that was the sheet metal with cut 0's in it, just not a fan. wondering what everybodies opinions are before i order them, probably the semi gloss black reg flow on my black 00 xj.

will they prevent my fuel from evaporating from the fuel rail/#3 injector when its warm and i park it when wheeling or will they not be enough? i hate that knock and blinking CEL

Whatever you end up doing, keep us in the loop. I am interested in the same thing - also a black XJ.

Of particular interest - what are the right louvers, shape wise? and what is the right location for maximum cooling without water getting into areas that should remain protected?

I have them installed on my 2001. I really like them and solved my heat soaking issue I was having. They are pricey but I think they look better than other types. they were very easy to install also

Also I purchased the $6 heat shield from a dealership to wrap that 3rd injector. I haven't had the CEL come on since doing both. Make sure you mesure a few time to make sure they're even and I used a drill bit inside the measurement and then a fine toothed blade on a jig saw. It made a very clean cut. I then primed and painted the bare edges of the cut and all the holes that you drill for the rivets. Took me and a buddy about 3 hours to complete everything. Good luck

This is what mine look like. I used some grill grate from lowes. Some one did a write up and I copyed them. Been in for over a year and no problems with water or heat. You can watch the heat waves comeing out at the stop light.

I added some Louvers to my '01XJ last summer and it REALLY helped dissipate enough heat that I stopped having the vapor lock hot start issues. I like the way they look and function.

Here's a thread documenting my louver install and issues and fixes.
