that was my original thought to, but after taking measurements and double checking them i wasn't impressed w/ the work to payoff ratio.
i was gonna do a tail gate/ rear hatch mod so the bottom open down and the top opend up like normal, but the final cut would leave me would a 10.5 " tall tail gate and like 30 hours fab time.

so i cut these shapes out of the CJ tail gate and was thinkin maybe i could use them as cowl additions. should i face them forwards to force air in to cool the engine, or backwards to let hot air escape?

a quick cut , grind, place , drill holes, cut hood, pop rivet, repeat and your done. someone please tell me to put the poor tailgate down before i try to make a Flux Compassitor out of it.
lets see, for $30, got badging, vac ball ptoection, hood vents... not bad

a 14" x 29" plate. poor mans break. 45 degree for both angles. a 6" x 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" triangle shape. back to the poor mans break. rivet into position. repeat for other side.... what is it

thats pretty good with the poor mans break. i do the same but mine dont come put nearly as nice as yours did. whats your secret that i didnt do when i was using 2 clamps as a break?

1000's of small bends and hits and corrections. i didn't bend it all at once. plus its aluminium so its soft, but same prinicple applies to steel. a little at a time and lots of repition.

at this time i would like to take some time and stop the thread. Gee Oh Dee one of the sites Moderators, has done an excellent job relocating this thread and re naming it. (CJtailgate...really???)
