Default 90 XJ driveway build

alright all you cool cats and kittens, stay tuned for this Mod. Pics to follow tomorrow. i got this CJ tail gate and i'm really digging the stamped sheet metal. Now remember i'm an XJ guy through and through, but i haven't seen this done to an XJ yet. total cost so far $30 and quality time with the kiddo....

I've been thinking of doing something along those lines with one of these, just don't wanna spend the $175 on it.

its a family event at the Junk Yard. 1 CJ tailgate slightly mutilated. one perfectly good XJ mno need to do anything to modify it in my own image, yet i do. feels Godly.

so i cut the stamped sheet metal off the tail gate and sized it to the right rear quarter panel and cut that out. then using masking tape and a "oops Magnet" little maget that extends to pick up dropped nuts n bolts. i used the magent to manipulate the CJ metal to match the XJ metal pushin and pulling and tack welding.

a thousand tiny little tack welds later and the worst bondo job ever it's done. a can of cheaqp white wal mart paint for .98 cents and it's the right color. i'll fix the bondo thing later but i got too excited and the rain was comeing so i rushed it.

whats the XJ world think?

Smooth the welds out with a grinder and even out the bondo would be mint.
Did it warp the quarters at all from welding?

yeah i hit the welds with the flap wheel and it was as smooth as glass, the rough look is from the **** poor bondo job i did. like i said rain was coming and i rushed it. nothing i can't fix with more sanding and a touch up later

a ten spot usually changes a persons attitude, plus you gotta train the kid to give that "AWW come on, pleeeaaassssee face"
