there were a total of 8 rivets that went into the plate being attached to the cross member, and i used to grade 8 bolts to secure to to the body (yeah i drilled right threw it) and used large washers. no pics yet... my camera batteries died when i was goin all paparazzi on the dog.

I'm trying to talk a friend into letting me use his shop to do my fab work, still need to find a set of torches tho. If I can get a place to fab I'm going to make skid plates, bumpers, and rocker replacements ( mine are rusted out so I'm going with 3/16" boat sides ) I'm seeing alot of good ideas on here. Maybe all those years as a welder will pay off lol. Looks good tho man, ima keep tabs on this thread

I like your 90. Nice build! Your tc skid seems thin, hope I am wrong and all your efforts weren't for not. Good looking pooch too.

most definately not a real "skid plate", mostly a brush gaurd. i don't wheel this rig very hard, rock crawling high speeds. more of a hunting and fishing rig. sees lots of old logging roads and over grown trails.

ok good i was gonna say that i sure hope you dont expect that to help hold the rig up on a rock with it being so thin and rivited. but using it as a brush guard that i see will be a success

it wraps around a 12000 lb warn winch that weighs close to 100lbs.the bumper i built spefically for that winch. i only put it on when i go to camp cause it kills my MPGs of my daily driver. nice thing about that winch is it'll rip the truck in half before it fails haha. also it kinda "plows" the road, and opens up the trail so to speak.

Seems like a good build so far, and as for the battering ram comment. Iv always wanted to mount one on a huge vehicle and hit I-40 during rush hour. Something with spikes and a couple of people strapped to it, like something from the road warrior. Just to see the faces of the others on the road lol. Nah man I think ya got a good thing going. I'll be on that path soon, just need a oil more time. Still have to get a winch also

Ok. Np. Heres the specs. Its off a Mj. I got like 3 3.25 of lift. The control arms are square type, with really good poly bushings. Nvere used them long. Ill send pics to you. It was a AAL. The arms sat on my floor for a long time so they have.minor rust spots. Easily can be cleaned and painted.

so next im thinking front skid plate, but i would like some aftermarket skid plate dimesions as i only have enough diamond plate to do it once, not enough to experiment

or

fab up a steering box brace, they don't look to complicated to do.

you guys decide...
